Overview


Our therapy team consists of physical therapists (PTs), occupational therapists (OTs), speech and language pathologists (SLPs), and respiratory therapists (RT) who work together with our nursing department to provide focused, individualized treatment and rehabilitation for our patients.

All treatments are provided to regain the highest levels of function; taking place in our 4,000 sqft gym. We encourage family members to be actively involved in all aspects of the rehabilitation process, from goal setting to discharge planning.

We treat patients in need of:

→ Joint replacement and orthopedic injury recovery

→ Injuries related to trauma

Physical Therapy

Physical therapy focuses on identification and rehabilitation of individuals with physical impairment and pain, as well as future injury prevention. Following evaluation, the physical therapist develops an individualized treatment program.

Areas of treatment focus may include:

→ Increase motor control for a patient who has suffered a stroke

→ Increase strength and mobility in the body and lower extremities

→ Improve coordination, balance, and the ability to walk following orthopedic surgery

→ Improve overall strength conditioning, range of motion, and endurance following hip or knee replacements

→ Teaching proper body mechanics to prevent injury

→ Promoting safety awareness for the well-being of the resident

→ Pain management

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy assists our patients in adapting to their social and physical environment by helping you master tasks essential for daily living. Our occupational therapists may work with patients who have debilitating arthritic conditions or those with difficulty bathing, dressing, and other activities of daily living. They assist our patients with impaired vision and/or hearing to function well in their environment.

Areas of treatment may include:

→ Functional independence - eating, bathing, toileting, homemaking, cooking

→ Maintenance of wellness - dressing, grooming

→ Prevention of further disability- home assessments and modifications, adaptive equipment

→ Increasing safety awareness

Speech/Language Therapy

Our speech therapists provide a continuum of services including assessment, education, and treatment for language, voice, articulation, and fluency disorders. Our treatment programs are directed towards improving communication skills and safe swallowing. We assist in rehabilitating patients who struggle with comprehension, memory, processing, and expression abilities. We also instruct the patient or the caregiver in the techniques ranging from head positioning to promoting safe swallowing at a slower rate to clearer speech.

Speech therapists work to restore the following abilities:

→ Improving speech and voice clarity

→ Increasing comprehension and verbal expression

→ Improving chewing and swallowing ability

→ Maximizing cognitive language skills, like memory, problem-solving, and abstract reasoning

→ Patient and family/caregiver education and training for managing ongoing difficulties with communication, cognition, and swallowing

Respiratory Therapy

Respiratory therapy focuses on supporting patients with breathing difficulties and lung-related conditions. Our licensed respiratory therapists provide treatments designed to improve lung function, enhance oxygen intake, and support overall respiratory health. These services are especially important for patients recovering from illness, surgery, or chronic respiratory challenges.
